What is the GMAT?

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is the standardized exam for MBA and graduate business-school admissions worldwide. The current Focus Edition, launched in late 2023, tests Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights, and reports a total score from 205 to 805.

What is the GMAT test format?

The GMAT Focus Edition takes about 2 hours 15 minutes, split into three 45-minute sections you can take in any order. Each section is scored 60–90 and weighted equally in your 205–805 total.

What is a good GMAT score?

A total of 625–675 is competitive (79th–95th percentile), and 685 or higher is highly competitive (96th percentile and up). Top programs like Stanford GSB (665–785) and Harvard Business School (655–775) admit from the mid-600s into the high 700s. Estimate yours with our GMAT score calculator.

How should I practice for the GMAT?

Start with a full-length mock to get a baseline, then use section practice and question-type drills to work on your weakest section — all three count equally toward your total. The GMAT is fully computer-based, so practicing on screen under time — as you do here — builds the pacing and stamina the real test rewards.
