Choosing Which Scores Schools Can See

Each Official Score Report you send shows one exam attempt, with your Total Score, Section Scores, and percentile rankings, according to mba.com's Official Score Reports page. A program only sees scores from attempts you send to it, and sending a report for the first time to a new program does not add scores from attempts sent to other programs.

If you qualify for a GMAT Superscore, mba.com adds it automatically and you are not allowed to exclude it, according to mba.com's support article on sending and reporting GMAT Superscores. The automatic inclusion applies to every report you send, the free ones and the paid ones. Your Superscore combines the highest section score you earned in Quant, Verbal, and Data Insights across your valid GMAT Focus Edition attempts within the 5-year validity window, according to mba.com's guide to the GMAT Superscore. Ties go to your most recent attempt, and the combined score reports on the same 205 to 805 scale as a single attempt.

How Long Your Scores Stay Sendable

GMAT scores remain sendable for 5 years from your exam date, according to mba.com's Sending Your Score page. Scores between 5 and 10 years old are sendable only if you have not retaken the GMAT within the past 5 years. Once you sit a new attempt, older scores past the 5-year mark drop off your sendable list.

Canceling and Reinstating a GMAT Score

Canceling Your Score

Cancel a score for free at the test center immediately after you see your unofficial score, according to mba.com's Cancel & Reinstate page. If you keep the score at the test center or sit the online exam, you have 72 hours from finishing the exam to cancel through your mba.com account for a US$25 fee. Only cancellation at the test center is free.

A cancelled score's C marker does not appear on any future score report sent to schools. Cancellation stays private between you and mba.com.

Reinstating a Cancelled Score

Canceling is not permanent. If you cancel a score and later need it, reinstatement puts it back on your record for a fee, and the option stays open for years after your exam appointment, according to mba.com's support article on viewing and reinstating cancelled scores.
