The GMAT costs US$275 at a test center and US$300 online in the United States. Your fee covers the exam and up to 5 score reports sent free within 48 hours of your Official Score. Extra reports cost US$35 each. Rescheduling costs US$55 more than 60 days out, US$110 from 15 to 60 days, and US$165 inside 14 days, with online reschedules US$5 to US$15 higher per tier. Cancelling refunds US$110, US$80 or US$55 by the same windows. Prices differ by country: the United Kingdom pays £250 and Mainland China US$250.
The GMAT costs US$275 at a test center and US$300 online for test takers in the United States, according to mba.com's Exam Payment page. Two factors set your price: the delivery format you pick and the country you test in. Local taxes and local regulations apply based on your test center location, or on your own location for the online exam. Test takers in the United Kingdom pay £250 at a test center, and test takers in Mainland China pay US$250, according to mba.com's location-specific pricing page.
Registration is rarely your only charge. Rescheduling, cancelling, ordering extra score reports and phoning customer service each carry a published fee. This guide lists the amounts GMAC publishes, the notice windows behind reschedule pricing, and the partial refunds you get back when you cancel.
GMAT Exam Fee at a Glance
GMAC sells one exam in two formats, and the online version costs US$25 more in the United States. The table below shows United States pricing for the exam and for extra score reports, taken from the country pricing table on mba.com.
| Service | Test center | Online |
|---|---|---|
| GMAT exam | US$275 | US$300 |
| Additional Score Report | US$35 each | US$35 each |
Those amounts apply to United States test takers. Select your country on the payment page before you register, because the table reloads with your local currency and local figures. GMAC also flags special school programs where fees differ from the published list, so read your offer document if a school sponsored your registration.
What the Base Fee Covers
Your fee books the appointment and pays for one exam attempt. It also covers up to 5 score reports sent to programs of your choice at no extra charge, according to mba.com's score sending page. You get 48 hours from the moment your Official Score becomes available to name those 5 programs. Miss the window and every report after it becomes a paid Additional Score Report.
You are not required to pick recipients before exam day. Waiting until you see your score is the safer play, because you then send only the result you want schools to read. Our GMAT score reporting guide covers how programs receive reports and when your Official Score posts.
How You Pay for the GMAT
mba.com accepts VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover for GMAT payment, according to mba.com's Exam Payment page. Your bank statement will not read GMAT or GMAC. It shows the delivery partner instead, so match the descriptor below against your statement before you report a charge as unknown.
| Delivery format | Payment processor | Statement descriptor |
|---|---|---|
| Test center | Pearson VUE | VUE*GRAD MGMT TEST |
| Online | Talview | TALVIEW.INC |
Declined and Disputed Payments
A declined card cancels your appointment automatically, and you have to rebook with a valid payment method, according to mba.com. Paying with a fraudulent or stolen card leads to cancelled registration, possible score cancellation, and possible notification to your target schools or to law enforcement. Wrongfully disputing a legitimate charge carries similar risk: GMAC is allowed to block your exam or cancel your appointment or score. Take billing questions to customer service before you contact your bank.
Rescheduling and Cancellation Fees
Reschedule pricing runs on notice windows. The earlier you act, the less you pay, and the spread between the best and worst window is US$110 at a test center. Online appointments cost more to move at every tier. The table below shows United States reschedule fees from mba.com's location-specific pricing page.
| Notice before your appointment | Test center | Online |
|---|---|---|
| More than 60 days | US$55 | US$60 |
| 15 to 60 days | US$110 | US$120 |
| 14 days or less | US$165 | US$180 |
Cancelling returns part of your fee instead of charging a flat penalty. The refund shrinks as your appointment gets closer, and the same three windows apply. Cancelling a US$275 test center booking more than 60 days out returns US$110, so you still lose US$165 of the original payment, according to mba.com.
| Notice before your appointment | Test center refund | Online refund |
|---|---|---|
| More than 60 days | US$110 | US$120 |
| 15 to 60 days | US$80 | US$90 |
| 14 days or less | US$55 | US$60 |
Both tables stop at the 24-hour line. You are not allowed to reschedule or cancel inside 24 hours of your scheduled start time, and skipping the appointment forfeits the entire fee, according to mba.com's Exam Policies page. Moving a test center date one week out for US$165 still beats losing US$275 to a no-show. Decide early, because every day of delay narrows your options.
Service Fees and Deadlines
Four rules decide what a change costs you beyond the tables above. Each one is published on mba.com's policy and pricing pages. Read them before you touch your booking.
- Changing a test center appointment by phone instead of online self-service adds a US$10 service fee, according to mba.com.
- A no-show forfeits your full registration fee with no refund.
- Rebooking after a missed appointment is allowed 24 hours later, instead of the standard gap of roughly 16 days between attempts, and the full fee applies again.
- Edits to your personal account information close 72 hours before your exam start time.
Fix profile errors in the week before your exam rather than the night before. Our GMAT retake policy guide covers the full waiting rules between attempts.
Additional Score Report Fee
Additional Score Reports cost US$35 each, at a test center and online alike, according to the pricing table on mba.com. You order them from your mba.com account once your free 48-hour window closes or once you have used all 5 free sends. Each report goes to one program, so three extra schools add US$105 to your total. Score reporting fees are non-refundable after you place the order, according to mba.com's Official Score Reports page.
Draw up your school list before results arrive. Every program you name inside the free 48-hour window saves you US$35 later. Our score reporting guide explains delivery timing and what programs receive with each report.
Enhanced Score Report Cost
You pay nothing extra for detailed performance insights on the current GMAT. The exam includes them with your Official Score Report at no additional cost, according to mba.com. The insights break your result down by section, question type, content domain and fundamental skill, with time management data for every question. You also see how your Total Score percentile compares with other applicants to the same programs.
The paid Enhanced Score Report belongs to the previous exam version, the GMAT 10th Edition. Its widely cited US$30 price dates from the 10th Edition era and no longer appears on any live mba.com page. The report has no line in the current GMAT fee table, which lists only the exam, Additional Score Reports, reschedules and cancellations. GMAC has retired the ESR purchase page and its help-center articles, and the old Enhanced Score Report address now redirects to the Official Score Reports page. GMAC publishes no current way to buy the report.
GMAT Fees by Country
Country pricing follows local taxes and local regulations, and the currency changes with it. The table below compares four markets from the country selector on mba.com's location-specific pricing page. Additional Score Reports stay at US$35 in all four.
| Country | Test center exam | Online exam | Reschedule, more than 60 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | US$275 | US$300 | US$55 |
| India | US$275 | US$300 | US$55 |
| United Kingdom | £250 | £275 | £50 |
| Mainland China | US$250 | Not available | US$50 |
Mainland China runs test center exams only, because regulatory and local data privacy rules block the online GMAT there, according to mba.com. United Kingdom test takers pay in pounds at every tier, including £150 to move an appointment inside 14 days. India runs on United States dollar pricing, so the fee matches the United States figure while the exam sits at a lower share of local income.
Check your own country before you budget. Pick it in the selector, read the fee table the page returns, and note the reschedule tiers next to the exam price. The payment page carries the exam fee, the report fee, the reschedule tiers and the refund amounts for your location in one view.
